01Site-specific traffic management plans
A traffic management plan describes how road users and the work zone will be managed for a particular project. NORTHSTAR provides TMP services and permit support alongside on-site traffic control. Planning needs vary with the location, duration and impact of the work.
02Information to prepare
Send the site address, a description of the work, drawings or a marked site layout, proposed dates and hours, and the space the work will occupy. Include equipment movements, deliveries and known access needs. Existing plans and comments from the road authority are useful when discussing the scope.
03TMP scope and permit support
Before proceeding, confirm the planning work required, any existing documents to be revised, permit-assistance responsibilities and the anticipated schedule. If the project changes, share the revised work limits or sequence so the effect on planning and on-site arrangements can be considered.
04Vancouver review and permits
The City of Vancouver reviews traffic control and management plans and determines project-specific requirements, including whether engineering review is needed. Plan acceptance and permission to use the street are distinct steps. Consult the City’s traffic management guidance and discuss what applies to your work; approval and review times are not guaranteed by a crew booking.
05From plan to site
Once the relevant requirements and schedule are established, coordinate the on-site services with the plan. NORTHSTAR also offers traffic control personnel, lane closure technicians and trucks, and TCP supervision. Confirm those services separately as part of the project scope.
